Beauty Copycat - Blake Lively

blake

Make-up maestro Helen Dowsley, Priceline's Head Make-up Artist, shares her insider tips so we can all recreate celebrity beauty looks at home. Hurrah!

Blake is the ultimate 'It Girl' and it's not hard to see why the blonde beauty is so frequently photographed. This look is good for when you want to make an impact without using too much colour as it's all about lashes!

Step 1: Prep the face to remove any existing makeup and create a clean base using a cleanser, toner and moisturiser.

Step 2: Apply primer to prep the skin followed by a mineral makeup, applied using a kabuki brush, to even the skin tone.

Step 3: Sweep a soft gold eye shadow over the eyelid from the lashes to over the brow bone. Gently sweep a small amount of the same colour underneath the eye, ensuring you stay close the lashes.

Step 4: Curl lashes and apply two coats of black mascara.

Step 5: Using tweezers place a full strip of false lashes on each eyelid, keeping it them as close to the lash line as possible.

Step 6: Apply black liquid eyeliner along the top lash only.

Step 7: Define the brows using an eyebrow pencil. Apply the pencil with feathery strokes through the brow to fill any gaps and blend any harsh lines with a brow brush.

Step 8: Using a natural lipstick, mix a touch of lose powder and apply to lips, this will keep the lipstick looking fresh all night without having to re-touch too often.

Step 9: Blow dry hair, toss into side pony and work in a couple of loose fishbone plaits.

Expert Tip: When applying false lashes, you want to get them right on top of your natural lashes. Start by holding the false lashes with tweezers and resting them on the natural lashes. Slowly slide them down the natural hairs until they reach the skin just at the root of the lashes and gently press to stick them in place.

Beauty Copycat - Bianca Balti

thirtydays1

Make-up maestro Helen Dowsley, Priceline's Head Make-up Artist, shares her insider tips so we can all recreate celebrity beauty looks at home. Hurrah!

Bianca has a classic beauty look, with high cheek bones and full lips. With her dark hair and blue eyes, it doesn't take much to make her eyes pop! The smoldering bronze eye makeup is a perfect contrast for her blue eyes and is a gorgeous evening look for a night out!

Step 1: Prep the face to remove any existing makeup and create a clean base using a cleanser, toner and moisturiser.

Step 2: Ensure an even tone by using primer all over the face.

Step 3: Apply foundation using a brush, starting at the centre of face and working it outwards with smooth strokes out towards the sides of the face. Don't forget to apply foundation over the eyelids and under the eye area to create a good base for long lasting eye makeup.

Step 4: Using a large brush, apply a loose powder over face and eyes to make your base lasts longer and to minimise shine on oily or combination skin.

Step 5: Wash an apricot eye shadow over lids from the lash line and just up above the crease. The latest trend is to take stronger colours closer to the brow so don't be afraid to be a little more generous with your eye shadow. Dab a touch of emerald green colour on inner corners of the eye to really make them pop.

Step 6: Use a black kohl pencil and line the top and bottom of the inner eye. Use a touch more liner underneath the eye and gently smudge with to soften harsh lines. Set the kohl liner with a sweep of emerald green eye shadow.

Step 7: Finish the eye makeup with a touch of mascara to the top lashes to open the eyes.

Step 8: The eyes are the focus for this look so keep the brows, cheeks and lips quite neutral. Simply sweep a light shimmery bronzer under the cheek bones and add a touch of light pink lip colour to finish the makeup look.

Step 9: For a glamorous night out, wear your hair in loose curls, using a curling iron. After using a heat protection product, take sections of hair, place the curling iron at root and wrap hair around iron. Finish with a light hair spray or salt spray to hold curls.

Expert Tip: When choosing a foundation, apply it to the jaw line and if you can't see it, then you know it is the right colour
